Golf Tip – Solution To Looking Up Too Early

Golf Tip Question

I have this problem where I look up too early to see where the ball is going. What can I do to solve this problem?

Golf Tip Answer

This is quite a deeply rooted problem which many golfers have, and it’s all based around fear.

You see, golfers look up too early because they’re afraid of where the ball “might” go.

This is like a self fulfilling prophecy in many regards, because before the shot the golfer is afraid that the ball will go into trouble – so they swing, and then look up, to see if the ball is going to go into the trouble or not. You’re hoping not… but more often than not, looking up too early ends up in a bad shot.

There are many things I could give you to fix this problem. But I’m going to focus on one simple thing, which is the fear about where the golf ball “might” go.

You need to get yourself out of the habit of being fearful of the golf ball.

The easiest way to do that is to hide the golf ball and just swing so the golf ball gets in the way of the club.

For more information on how to do that simply go here and read this.

You’ll need to follow the practice advice I give in that article for quite a while, to build up a new habit where you swing without fear. But when you can do that you’ll enjoy playing golf so much more.
